Join us for an unforgettable scenic bike tour along Sardinia’s breathtaking northern coast, starting from the charming town of Alghero and weaving your way to Costa Smeralda and finally to Cala Gononone. This journey offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the rugged landscape just when the flowers are in their fullest bloom. As you pedal toward the magnificent Goroppu Gorge, prepare for a thrilling ride through one of Europe’s deepest canyons. The scenery is inspiring, with steep cliffs and lush greenery surrounding you. Challenge yourself to conquer the Genna Silana Pass, where the sweeping vistas will reward your efforts. For those wanting to add hiking to the mix, enjoy the tallest mountain in Sardina. Learn all about Cannonau red wine, various pastas and breads made by each region. In addition to the fresh seafood, enjoy cheese products from the local sheep and goats including pecorino. Seada, a regional dish, is a “must try”. This tour is perfect for recreational riders which ensures a delightful experience for cyclists of all levels. For the non-cyclists in the group, a daily itinerary will include options for scenic hikes, historic tours, and farm-to-table culinary adventures, ensuring an enriching experience for everyone.

Itinerary

Day 1 Saturday, April 26, 2025: Welcome to Italy

Upon your arrival, our guides will be waiting to greet you at Alghero Airport. Two shuttles will depart at 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM, transporting you to the charming town of Alghero. After checking into the hotel, each participant will undergo a bike fitting to ensure a comfortable riding experience. In the evening, we’ll gather for our first dinner together, providing an opportunity to meet your fellow travelers and guides while savoring delicious Sardinian cuisine. We will also conduct a safety briefing and discuss the details of our week ahead, including an overview of the plans for Day 2.

Day 2 sunday, april 27, 2025: Warm Up Ride

After breakfast we will start our first bike ride to Bosa. This is a stunning journey along the coast of Sardinia, covering about 28 miles. This route is famous for its breathtaking views, charming landscapes, and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea.  Upon reaching Bosa, you'll be greeted by its colorful houses perched on a hill, the serene Temo River, and the impressive Malaspina Castle. The town has a rich history and a charming old town perfect for a leisurely stroll.  Your hotel will be ready for check-in when we arrive into Bosa.   You will have the afternoon to enjoy lunch on your own.

Day 3 monday, april28 , 2025: sassari to theresa gallura

After breakfast, we will transport by van (20 minutes) to start our ride to Theresa Gallura. We will stop at a local Argritourismo for a traditional lunch before reaching Santa Teresa Gallura, famous for its white sand beaches and clear water.  The unspoiled beach of La Licciola has amazing views sheltered by granite boulders and views of the Saprgi and Budelli islands.

Day 4, tuesday, april29, 2025: theresa gallura to baja sardinia

After breakfast, we will start to travel inland to visit one of the largest Nuraghe in Sardinia. Here we will enjoy a light local snack and learn the history of these Nuragic villages some built as far back as  19-18 century BC before we continue our journey to Baja Sardina for lunch. A 10-mile ride option is available after lunch.

Day 5, wednesday, april 30, 2025: to lula

After breakfast, we will continue riding inland where we will stop for lunch at a goat farm. The optional post-ride route is long but only with mild hills for those wanting to enjoy an extended bike ride today.

Day6, thursday, May 1, 2025:

  Today we have a local ride with stunning inland views before we return for lunch.  After lunch, we will all transport by van to the final hotel where we will be staying for the last 2 nights. There are many options today for those who prefer a day off from cycling.  We have curated several options including historic tours, food tours, and hiking tours.

Day7, friday, may 2,2025: Coastal ride to orosei

After breakfast, we will offer a leisure coastal ride to Orosei. We will stop for lunch and loop back to the hotel. We will enjoy our final dinner celebrating our accomplishments.

Day 8 Saturday, may 3,2025: Bye-Bye Sardinia

After breakfast transportation will be provided to Olbia Airport. NOTE: different airport than the pick-up.

Bike and Gear:

  • The bikes included with the price of the tour will be high-performance carbon road bikes equipped with electronic shifters and hydraulic disc brakes. They feature 30-inch tires, ideal for both comfort and performance on various terrains. The bikes are lightweight, ensuring an efficient ride, and are designed for all-day comfort on long-distance rides.

  • E-bikes are also available for an additional charge of $200.00 for those who prefer an assisted ride.
